Animal index: hatches, dreckos, and biological resource chains

An animal index is a navigation hub for biological entries. Early AwayTeam material highlights Hatch, Stone Hatch, Drecko, and Glossy Drecko-style critters. They represent two common chains: food, coal, and rock conversion on one side; plant-linked fiber or plastic output on the other.

Hatch-type critters

Hatch and Stone Hatch entries are best read as resource-conversion pages. They consume selected materials or foods and return resources that can re-enter the base economy. Feed stability matters more than one-time output.

Drecko-type critters

Dreckos are ecosystem nodes. They usually depend on plants, temperature range, and room layout. Expanding them before plant production is stable can create more work than value.

How to browse

Read the critter overview first, then individual animal entries. Single-entry pages should answer what the critter eats, what it outputs, where it belongs, and what side effects it creates.

Ranching route

Early ranching should be low-maintenance. Mid-game ranching can add dedicated rooms, shipping, and temperature control. Late ranching should connect animals to food, materials, and technology goals.
